You can remove the coffee stains from your carpet by using some of the basic products. The good news is that cleaning coffee stains from carpets and rugs is super simple to do even if the stains are old. The enzymes in the laundry detergent help you to break down the coffee particles. First off you should spritz a bit of cold water on the stain then apply salt on it.

You only need a few ingredients from your cleaning closet. The stain will be slowly lifted into the towel. Blot with a dry towel to remove more of the coffee stain as it lifts from the carpet fibers. It also works great in getting rid of hot chocolate out of the carpet.

Gently blot the ammonia solution onto the carpet and wait three to five minutes. If you know your carpet is not a wool or wool blend you can try mixing one tablespoon of ammonia with one cup of water. The use of salt can help absorb the coffee and the water as well from the carpet. Make sure you don t rub the carpet as this could get the liquid trapped in the fibers.

This will almost lift the solution out of your carpet. If your coffee contained loads of cream and sugar then this is an ideal option for you. If the coffee contained cream or sugar combine one capful of enzyme laundry detergent and one cup warm water in a fresh dish. A coffee stain on carpet becomes more challenging to clean once it dries but you can use carpet cleaner or items you have around the house to loosen the stain.

Remember that under no circumstances should you use anything with ammonia in to clean your wool or wool blend carpets. Use a spray bottle with water and wet the stain. If your coffee has cream or milk in it you may need an extra cleaner to break up the proteins in the dairy component of the stain. Apply a cleaning solution.

Place a hot iron on the towel for 20 30 seconds. Put some 3 hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and generously spray the stain. For those who are still dealing with old coffee stains you can use salt on it. Get a clean white towel that is quite wet and place it over the stain.

Stir the solution to blend it well. Coffee stains on rugs can sometimes go unnoticed especially when your drink splashes under furniture. This will significantly lighten the stain so it will be easier for you to see what you are working on. Once you ve gotten most of it up use cold water to pour over the stain and blot again to dilute it.
