Using supplies you already have at home you can remove coffee stains from carpet just as successfully but less expensively as buying commercial products.

You can sprinkle baking soda over the spot once you ve finished the third step and let it sit until the carpet s dry. First blot as much of the liquid up as possible using a towel rag or paper towel. Lemon is extremely helpful if you are out and accidentally spilled coffee on your shirt for instance. Begin at the outside of the coffee stain and gently rub in a circular motion working your way to the inside of the stain.

If you aren t able to treat a coffee stain right away liberally throw some salt on the area before you leave. You can also use this trick if you spill tea on your carpet. Alternatively you can combine 1 tablespoon of dish soap 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 2 cups of warm. This way you can remove the stain much faster.

Rinse the area with clean cold water. For your carpet you can also mix the lemon with your chosen carpet cleaner. Blot the stain if you have just spilled coffee on your carpet act fast. Make your own cleaner.

Pour a small amount of cold water onto the coffee stain. Work from the outside to the middle so the liquid doesn t spread. The salt acts as a remover for coffee stains by drawing the moisture from the carpet and pulling the pigments that cause the stain out of the carpet fibers. An effective coffee stain remover consists of one tablespoon liquid dish soap one tablespoon white vinegar and two cups warm water.

You might need to repeat this process at least twice depending on how much coffee landed on the carpet. Using a clean dry towel remove any excess moisture by stepping directly onto the towel and firmly pressing. Use a new clean white cloth to blot up all of the liquid.
